It's 7 weeks and you are required to attend classroom sessions Monday-Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm. During this course you will undertake a Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Rail Engineering and Track Maintenance, giving you the skill-set required to secure a job within the rail industry.
On this course, you can expect a full track induction which includes personal track safety (PTS), DCCR, OLEC 1, manual handling, fire awareness, emergency first aid, and rail employability. You must also pass Network Rail drug, alcohol, and medical testing to undertake your PTS.
The training days include practical training out on the track at our specialist training facilities. For this, you will be issued with your own Railway PPE equipment and clothing.
